Add to album

This clay tobacco pipe bowl was found at Inveravon Roman Fort in Stirlingshire. It dates from the 19th century.

The bowl is marked 'GEO. HARRISON/CROWN INN/LAURIESTON'.

It is thought that many inns or taverns kept clay tobacco pipes for giving away or selling at a low price to customers.
