A rowel is a small wheel with sharp projecting points, forming the end of a spur. This ten point bronze rowel was found in the field containing the ruins of Kilspindie Castle in Aberlady in East Lothian. It dates from the 15th or 16th century.

Kilspindie or Kilspindley Castle was built in 1585, between the village of Aberlady and the shore.
