These two pieces of lead shot were found in the field containing the ruins of Kilspindie Castle in Aberlady in East Lothian. They date from the 16th or 17th century.

Lead shot like this was fired from a variety of hand guns including pistols and long guns.

Kilspindie or Kilspindley Castle was built in 1585, between the village of Aberlady and the shore.
