Finial

This wrought iron finial was made by the Edinburgh ironworks firm of Thomas Hadden. It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The finial is shaped like a stem terminating in flat rose leaves.

Important commissions were vital for firms like Hadden's who opened for business in 1901 at Silvermills Lane in Edinburgh. Work would be ordered by architects and private customers.
