Plate

This earthenware plate was decorated around 1930 by Christina Amour at the Bough Pottery Studio in Edinburgh.

It is painted with fruit in a variety of underglaze colours and is marked 'BOUGH/ C.C.A. (for Christina Amour) / 3P / MADE IN SCOTLAND'.

The Bough Pottery Studio was founded in Edinburgh by Elizabeth Amour, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, in 1913. She was joined by four other members of her family in the early 1920s. The Studio continued in operation until 1942, decorating biscuit-ware blanks bought in from various factories in Scotland and England.
