This fragment of greenish coloured stone was used a charm or amulet.

The stone is set in silver with a loop for suspension and has the letters 'IKM' on the back, probably the initials of a former owner. It may have been mounted for dipping in water which would then be drunk for curative or protective purposes by animals or people.

It was given to the Museum in 1851 by Mrs Maclaurin
