A quaich is a traditional Scottish drinking vessel. This large pewter example dates from the late 18th century. There is no maker's mark.

The quaich's side handles are inscribed `AA. DUNFERMLINE', `I H' and `R WELLWOOD'. These inscriptions were made by former owners.

Quaichs are usually made of wood or silver; pewter quaichs are rare.
