Lamp

This mass-produced chrome-plated bicycle lamp was made in Birmingham in early 20th century.

The lamp is stamped 'PANTHER / P. & H. Ltd / B'HAM'. It is made for carbide batteries and the base unclamps to allow the batteries to be inserted. At the side of the lamp is a little crystal porthole showing the state of the light. There is a spring-loaded handle at the back.
