Candlestick

This brass candlestick was made in 1667 in the Netherlands. Engraved on the foot is 'TUNDERGARTH/1667'. Tundergarth is a parish in Dumfriesshire, so the candlestick could well have been used in south-west Scotland.

The candlestick has a spiral stem, a wide flat drip pan and a domed foot. The drip pan and the foot are embossed with fruit and leaf designs.
