This pewter measure was made in England in the late 17th century. It was found in London.

The measure is inscribed 'Thomas Hollinwood at ye Fox and Tap in Chick Lane'.

Pewter was commonly used for measures and drinking vessels as it was both fairly cheap and strong enough to stand up to to the rigours of tavern life.
