Jade mythical animal
Add to album

As most jade animal sculptures, this mythical beast is shown in the resting posture with the legs folded. The turned head position is also common among jade animal sculptures.

This mythical beast has one horn. Its head is turned back. There is one perforation between the mouth and the neck.

Jade carvers often made clever use of different colour areas of jade pebbles to enhance the visual effect.
