Bowl, made at Kirkcaldy, Fife
Add to album

This Weymss Ware bowl was made between around 1883 and 1930 at Robert Heron & Sons' Pottery at Kirkcaldy in Fife.

The bowl is hand-painted with four sprays of thistles.

Heron's Fife Pottery is perhaps best known for its brightly painted, highly fashionable and expensive Wemyss Ware. The characteristic freely-painted decoration was introduced by Karel Nekola, a Czech who arrived in Kirkcaldy in 1883.
