Medal (Reverse), commemorating Sir Walter Scott

This is the reverse of a bronze medal commemorating Sir Walter Scott. Dating from 1822, the medal was made by W. Bain and B.R. Faulkner.

The reverse depicts a lady standing in a small boat on a lake. Underneath her is the inscription, 'Lady of the Lake Canto 1st XVII'.

'The Lady of the Lake' was one of Scott's principal long poems, published in 1810.
