This is the obverse of a copper halfpenny trade token of Thomas & Alexander Hutchison of Edinburgh. The token is dated 1790.

The obverse depicts St Andrew standing between two thistles, holding his cross. The surrounding Latin text - 'NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT' - translates as 'No one harms me with impunity'.

Hutchisons were Edinburgh merchants and issued ten tons of halfpenny tokens.
