Rein guide from yoke

This bronze rein guide from a yoke, also known as a terret, was found at the site of the Roman outpost fort at Strageath in Perthshire. It was used between 140 and 165 AD.

Roman terret from Strageath, Perthshire, 140 - 165 AD

Entire carts or wagons from this period rarely survive. Often all that is left are metal fittings and bindings, such as the harness fittings which attached a yoke to the harness.
