Medallion of George III

This paste and amber George III medallion was made by James Tassie in London in the late 18th century.

The head of the king is white paste. The background is amber.

James Tassie, 1735-99, was born and educated in Glasgow, but moved to London in 1766, where he produced paste medallions of the important and fashionable figures of the day.
