Scoop

This scallop shell is from Cnoc Coig on Oronsay in the Inner Hebrides. It was found on a rubbish heap associated with the early gathering-fishing-hunting communities of the west of Scotland. It would have been used as a scoop.

The shell is worn around its outer edge.
