Bagpipes & bellows
Add to album

These Scottish Lowland bagpipes, with bellows of wood and leather, date from the early 19th century.

The bagpipes have three drones in a single stock, bone and brass mounts, and a black velvet cover over a bag of sheepskin.

Bellows bagpipes, also known as 'caul' wind pipes', are a chamber instrument, quieter than traditional Highland pipes, and easier to play and maintain.
