Wemyss ware box
This Wemyss ware box for holding crystallised fruit was made at Robert Heron's Pottery in Kirkcaldy in Fife between around 1916 and 1928.
The box is painted with figs and leaves, apparently by Edwin Sandland.
Originally from a family of potters in Hanley in Staffordshire, Sandland took over as chief decorator at Herons in 1916.
