Add to album

This pair of silver communion flagons is from Trinity College Kirk in Edinburgh. The flagons were made in London in 1632.

Around the foot of each tall plain flagon is an inscription reading: 'Gifted to the North East Parish of Edenburgh by the charitie of some honest indwellers of the same, anno 1633.'

Trinity College Kirk stood on the site of Waverley Station. It was founded in 1460 by Mary of Gueldres, in memory of her husband James II, and completed in 1531. The church became Protestant at the Reformation in 1560.
