Communion bread plate

This silver communion bread plate from Duffus Kirk in Moray was made in 1635-7 or 1639-40 by George Robertson, a goldsmith in Edinburgh.

The plate has a wide, flat simple rim which curves gently down to form a deep bowl, with a wide shallow central boss. The inscription reads: 'The Bread That I Will Give Is My Flesh Which I Will Give For Ye Life Of The World'.
