Gloves worn by John Graham, Viscount Dundee

This pair of kid leather gloves is said to have been worn by John Graham, Viscount Dundee.

The cuffs are embroidered with silver wire thread.

The first Jacobite rising was led by John Graham, Viscount Dundee, after James VII had fled London in 1688. Dundee's Jacobite army eventually fought government troops at Killiecrankie in Perthshire in 1689. The Jacobites won but Dundee was killed.
