Pewter cup and plate, of the Associate Anti-Burgher Congregation, Kinross, Perthshire

This two-handled pewter cup and the accompanying bread plate were made for the Associate Anti-Burgher Congregation in Kinross in 1800.

The inscription on the cup reads 'Asso Ante Burgher Con Kinross 1800'.

Anti-burghers refused to take an oath, required of some burgesses, which seemed to acknowledge the legality of the Established Church.
