Communion cup

This silver communion cup is from Ellon Kirk in Aberdeenshire. It was given to the congregation by landowner John Kennedy of Kermuck and his wife Janet Forbes. The cup was made in Amsterdam, where such beakers were common secular drinking cups.

On the bottom of the cup is an inscription reading: 'Coft from Alexander Hayes Anno 1634'.
