Copper medal (reverse) commemorating the Glasgow Exhibition

This is the reverse of a copper medal commemorating the Glasgow Exhibition of 1901. The medal was made by a J.W. Lauer.

The reverse bears the coat-of-arms of Glasgow. It is inscribed with 'LET GLASGOW FLOURISH' and the maker's initials.

Edinburgh hosted international exhibitions in 1886 and 1907, and Glasgow in 1888 and 1901. These were large events where Scottish produce, from railway engineering to pottery, vied with international exhibits.
