Telescope
Add to album

This brass telescope was made around 1860, probably by Peter Airth Feathers, a scientific instrument maker based in Dundee.

The refracting telescope has glass optics, a tapered leather-covered tube with brass ends and a single draw. It is engraved 'Feathers/Dundee'.

Peter Airth Feathers began in business in 1840. At different times he was joined by two of his three sons. The business continued to 1910, and appears to have supplied a wide variety of items.
