Knife

This slate knife was found at Jarlshof in Shetland. It could have been used in butchery sometime between 2500 and 1500 BC.

The large knife was manufactured from a slate flake.

The inhabitants of Jarlshof used the abundant local supplies of stone to made crude-looking but effective tools.
