Brooch

This penannular bronze brooch was found at the site of the Roman fort at Camelon in Stirlingshire. It is a type worn by both the Roman and native population, and could have been made by either. It dates from between 80 and 165 AD.

The Roman army obtained supplies from three zones: locally (either by the army or natives), within the Roman province of Britannia, or further afield in the Roman empire.
