Cup of pottery
Add to album

This pottery cup was found in a cist at Balmuick Farm at Comrie in Perthshire. It looks as if it was a pottery copy of the prestigious handled cups found in contemporary southern England, especially the gold cup from from Rillaton in Cornwall.

When found the handled cup was on its side, and contained a few fragments of bone.

The Scottish elite during the second millennium B.C. adopted fashions current in southern England.
