Arrowhead
Add to album

This flint arrowhead was found at Dolphinton in South Lanarkshire. It dates from between 2500 and 1000 BC. Arrowheads of this nature could have been used for hunting or for fighting.

The arrowhead has barbs to help it stick into its target and a tang to attach it to the wooden arrowshaft.

Barbed and tanged arrowheads are common in the Bronze Age.
