Add to album

This earthenware vase was made by Peter Gardner's Dunmore Pottery in Falkirk district.

The streaked glazed vase has a very low squat spreading body on a circular base, and with a handle at either side.

Peter Gardner took over his father's small redware pottery in 1860 and immediately began to develop new ranges of fashionable wares. The pottery was supported by the local landowners the Earl and Countess of Dunmore.
