Plaque

This 19th-century brass plaque gives the porterage charges at Hermitage Steam Wharf in Leith.

The rectangular plaque has rounded corners and two holes at the top for suspension. It bears the engraved inscription 'Edinburgh Leith & Newcastle Hermitage Steam Wharf. Porterage small packages one penny. Large do two pence. No. 7'.
