Boss for electric light

These cast brass bosses for ceiling electric lights date from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Each boss is pierced for screw fittings and has a grooved outer rim and a grooved, dome-shaped centre. The apex of the dome is hollowed out. Two of the bosses are painted white.
