Dress & hat

This lady's wool suit with matching hat was made in Paris around 1905. The wool used was possibly woven in Scotland.

The white, silk-lined jacket has a neck edge embroidered in an abstract pattern of green, brown and white. The straw hat is covered with pink linen and trimmed with two large feather wings.

Although Scotland's mills produced fabric for making clothes, the clothes themselves were often made up elsewhere.
