This stable lantern was made in the mid 19th century, possibly by T. Rowatt and Sons in the U.S.A.
It is made of tin with a lamp-glass holder of brass. The wheel end of the knob for adjusting the wick is stamped 'T. ROWATT & SONS'. The lamp-glass is marked 'O.K. / FIREPROOF / MADE IN THE / U.S. OF AMERICA'.
