This stable lantern dates from the 19th century and shows how the oil lamp and burner have been enclosed to avoid the risk of fire.

The lantern is made of red-painted tin, with four glass sides. The bracket and the wick-holder at the top of the reservoir are made of brass. The lantern is inscribed 'BEAR / BRAND / KAMENZ CRYSTAL / FIREPROOF / FOREIGN'.
