Oil lamp

This hanging oil lamp comes from Forfar in Angus. Made of tin, it dates from the 19th century.

The lamp's upper pan has a closed inner spout and an open outer spout. The lid is hinged at the back and has a trefoil ribbon handle. On the back is a round piercing for suspension.
