Fan box

Square-sided two-piece red leather-covered box stamped with book binders stamps in gold.

The edges are stamped with an arcaded floral pattern and in between each arcade is a letter, the whole reading MARGERITE PERET BERTRAN 1789. FM is stamped at the lower end on each broad side.

Presumably presented to the named woman with a fan on a special occasion.
