Fan

Folding fan with single leaf of fine skin, and carved and pierced ivory sticks and guards inlaid with mother of pearl and silver pique.

Painted with a scene of Aeneas saying farewell to Queen Dido of Carthage. Aeneas stands ready to embark on board his ship as Dido pleads with him to stay. The reverse is plain.
