Fan

Folding fan with single fine skin leaf, the sticks and guards of carved and pierced ivory.

Painted with a scene showing Mars and Venus in a woodland glade with cherubs. The edges painted with chinoiserie style flowers heightened in gold. The piercing on the guards backed by red foil.
