Fan box

Maroon paper covered fan box with hinged lid decorated with gold book binders stamps.

Long narrow box fastened by two brass hooks, the top edge stamped with small leaf motif and lined in blue paper. The box paper is blind stamped MARGEERIE F. Label on bottom: ALPH. GIROUX & Co RUE DU COQ ST HONORE No 7 a PARIS.

Margeerie is presumably the paper maker, Giroux is the supplier of the fan which was originally in the box.
