Fan

Folding fan with single paper leaf, carved ivory guards and plain sticks.

Leaf is painted with a rural scene, the shepherdess holding a houlette, the edges decorated with flowers. The guards carved with an acorn head.

Rural scenes were popular on English fans although the design is based on a Continental model.
