This framed portrait medallion of William Cullen (1710-90) was made by J. Tassie in 1786. The portrait is made of white enamel.

William Cullen became Glasgow University's first Professor of Chemistry in 1747. He advanced the industrial and agricultural applications of chemistry and edited the first modern pharmacopoeia in 1776.
