This pendant called 'Out of the Deep' was made by Phoebe Traquair in 1908.

The pendant is made of enamel with foil on copper, and set in gold. It depicts an angel rescuing a mortal soul from drowning.

Born in Dublin, Phoebe Anna Traquair (1852-1936) moved to Edinburgh in 1874 when she married Dr Ramsay Traquair. She undertook commissions for friends and clients, and her artistic talents spanned a range of materials.
