This ceramic plaque representing St John was made in the late 19th century at Peter Gardner's Pottery at Dunmore in Falkirk district.

Plaque depicting St John, Dunmore

Peter Gardner took over his father's small redware pottery in 1860 and immediately began to develop new ranges of fashionable wares. The pottery was supported by the local landowners the Earl and Countess of Dunmore.
