This ceramic urn was made around 1890 at Peter Gardner's pottery at Dunmore in Falkirk district.

The amphora-styled urn has duck-head handles.

Peter Gardner took over his father's small redware pottery in 1860 and immediately began to develop new ranges of fashionable wares. The pottery was supported by the local landowners the Earl and Countess of Dunmore.
