Cask dip stick (detail)

This is a detail of a cask dip stick, with a sliding stop, used for measuring the volume of the contents of whisky casks. It comes from Glenkinchie Distillery in East Lothian and dates from the mid 20th century. It is stamped 'Customs & Excise'.
