Cask pump, hand operated, for transferring raw whisky to ageing casks, from Glenkinchie Distillery

Whisky, the name of Scotland's national drink, is derived from Gaelic, uisge beatha or water of life. Distilled from fermented grain-mash, it was being made throughout Scotland by the 15th century. In the 19th century many large distilleries were built and the process became industrial. Whisky is Scotland's most valuable export and an important source of tax revenue.
