Silver coffee pot made in india, 1896 - 1906

This coffee pot is part of a silver tea service made in India between around 1896 and 1906. The tea service was given to the Rev. Robert Dewar in 1906 on his retirement from a United Free Church in Calcutta.

The coffee pot is elaborately decorated with friezes of Hindu deities.

At the United Free Church in Calcutta, Rev. Robert Dewar ministered to the European population of the city.
