Dress

This woman's green silk satin dress was made and worn by Mrs Jessie Newbery around 1912. It has a black, cut velvet design.

Jessie Newbery,1864-1948, is best remembered for her outstanding needlework. Having trained at Glasgow School of Art, she went on to teach there and with her husband Fra Newbery, Head of the School of Art, they influenced a generation of talented students
